Why can’t we do our own thing?

Last night when I was doing the Slug Menace quest with Mike, he brought up a good point (that I 110% agree with) the point being that in quests we are binded to Jagex’s plan for the series. This meaning that we are forced to “help” the enemy. This has happened before also in Regicide, when you fire the barrel at the elves. Anyways we are forced to work for the wrong side when we may know that this is not the case.
Some people may also want to work for different organizations. This was done with one of the other quests before in which you either help Lucien or do something else. I completely forget the name of that quest now… Someone post it in the comments if you know.
In my view it would make quests a whole lot more interesting if we could go our own way on the story. Sure it may take Jagex longer to develop quests but it’d be worth it. This would add variety and make it a true adventure rather than just connecting the dots as Jagex lays it out.
So what do you all think?

don’t forget about the quest where we had to take an teleport orb onto entrata where some ninja stole a sacred orb.
one more thing, i have 99 cooking… why the hell couldn’t i cook my own slug??

Hey..Btw you dont fire the barrel at the elves…You fire it at king tyras…I dont think hes an elf…anyway yah. you fire the barrel for the elves..

that quest you r talking about is temple of ikov, there’s another called hazeel cult. btw, i like your idea.

yea you can be more than 100% if you are so sure of something then you can be, it’s temple of ikov btw, plus there should be more choice on quests otherwise it is boring even though i am lvl 126 it is still cool to do quests now and again

i totally agree with u shane,and by the way. it is morally impossible to agree with someone over the amout of 100% :D…just so thats been cleared up.
